You are so close!

I’m sure it feels like a lifetime since you started kindergarten, navigated the awkwardness of middle school, and then learned how to adapt to life as a freshman in high school. But now, you are on the doorstep of graduating, and that itself is worth celebrating and commemorating. I am excited to work with you (or your parents!) on creating some senior photos that will forever capture this moment in your life.

Have a look around this gallery (below) and use the contact form above to get in touch if you would like more information about working together to create your senior photos.

It all starts with a conversation!

FAQs

How long does it take?

I get it. You want some amazing photos but don't want to spend all day doing it. Also, holding a smile for a long time isn't any fun.

Typically I plan on an hour or so for a session. I think it’s important to not be rushed, allow some time for conversation, spontaneity, and generally move through the session at a comfortable pace. If you are on a tight time frame, I will respect that and keep to a schedule. If we decide to move from location to location, obviously the travel time adds to the overall length of the session.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely! In fact, I prefer it if mom or dad or a sibling or best friend joins us on our shoot. The presence of another trusted person will help you feel your best, make you comfortable, and to be honest, it’s nice to have an extra set of hands to carry things, and eyes to see things I might miss such as a flyaway hair, missing earring, dog hair, etc., etc.

So … one extra person is welcomed, but an entire family or friend group tends to get in the way and detract from our goal. Please limit it to one (maybe two) other people.

Where do we shoot?

The answer to this question can come only after I have a conversation with you or your parents. If there is a spot that is meaningful to you, by all means we should try to make that happen.

If you are open to suggestions, I typically gravitate toward one of Missoula's beautiful natural settings such as the Rattlesnake, Kelly Island, the University District, etc. The weather and season play a big part in determining a location. Also, I need to find out where you are located so we can agree on a place that is convenient to you. I don't charge for travel unless we are shooting out of Missoula.

What do I wear?

Outfit selection is 100% up to you. Personally, my perspective is that you should wear an outfit that represents who you are, and something that makes you comfortable. If wearing a tie, or a dress, or anything too formal feels like it’s not who you are … don’t do it. Being your true self will lead to better photos and 30 years from now, you will want to see yourself as you were … not anyone else’s version of you.

Outfit selections should be made it conjunction with location. If we are walking on the rocky banks of a river, high heels might be a bummer. If you want to change from jeans and your favorite t-shirt to a formal dress, know that you might be changing outfits behind a tree.

I am more than happy to accommodate some outfit changes while we are on location. My suggestion is to keep the same pants and switch out the top to keep things simple and to achieve some different looks. Bottom line is that I am happy to photograph you in your chosen outfit(s), but the logistics of carrying, changing, and checking the fit is up to you.

Do you offer hair and make up services?

I do not as these areas are not my specialty. If you would like to hire out these services, I will welcome the person/people on our shoot but their services and your agreement will be between you and them.

What is the cost?

To discuss pricing, please contact me via the contact link above. For standard sessions, I charge a flat fee, charge additional fees if travel is outside the Missoula area, and I charge a fee for customers that choose to purchase the mobile app for their gallery. Overall, the cost is very reasonable.

If you have any special requests for your shoot that will require additional resources, such as time to plan or permissions that need to be granted, this needs to be discussed in our initial phone call. Based on your requests, additional costs might be incurred.

How do I get in touch with you?

I am sure that I have not answered all your questions on this FAQ, so I encourage you to use the contact link above to send me a message. I will reply ASAP.

What is the process?

Great question. While each shoot will be unique, they all follow the same basic process. In a nutshell it goes like this:
  • Initial contact via my website

  • We schedule a time to have a brief phone call to discuss ideas, goals, outfits, etc. On this call, we set a date and a location.

  • Shoot date!! Hopefully the light is incredible. If not, no worries as I bring lighting to every shoot I do.

  • Post-production. I evaluate the shoot, make my selects, and apply edits and enhancements digitally. I take a light-handed approach in editing, meaning that I will remove distracting elements, and do basic removal of blemishes, etc. But I don’t feel comfortable making alterations to a person’s appearance without their permission or them asking me to. Custom edit requests will be charged at an additional rate.

  • Delivery. One the edit is done and I feel good about the images I am delivering, I upload them to a digital gallery. You will receive a branded email with a password, PIN, and expiration date. From this email you will click to your online gallery where you can choose to download one or two or all images. You can also choose to purchase prints or announcements right from within this gallery. Most clients love, love, love how the image delivery is made and I regularly hear how amazing it looks and performs. After you receive your gallery, I am happy to hop on a phone call to walk you through the features and offerings.

  • Mobile-app delivery. Along with the gallery delivery, I can deliver your image gallery in the format of a mobile app you can install on your phone. If you choose to invest in this add-on, you will receive an additional email with instructions on how to install the app. It’s very cool and allows you to have your senior photos on your device, just one thumb tap away!
